Dr. Akram Zayour

Superintendent

Dr. Akram Zayour is the Superintendent of Dubai International Private School / UAE. He has over 33 years of experience in education as a school leader, associate professor, co-author, curriculum designer and developer, educational consultant, digital creator and assessor, trainer, designer and developer of postgraduate courses, an external examiner (viva) for supervising Doctoral Degrees and Master Degrees Thesis, quality assurance team member for AdvancED and Cognia, a NEASC team visitor, and a researcher. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature; a Master Degree in Quality Management; a Teaching Diploma and Master Degree courses in TEFL; a Ph.D. in Education Administration, and an accomplished Ed.D.( Doctor of Education Program) majoring in curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Dr. Akram has designed, developed, and taught postgraduate educational courses at many universities such as Lebanese University, Lebanese International University, the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, and Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University in UAE. He had been a Designer, Developer, Trainer, and Team member of the “Post Graduate Diploma in Curriculum Design and Development for the Arab States”; (UNESCO/ Geneva, Dubai). He has been a panelist, speaker, and presenter of many papers at international conferences. He is fluent in Arabic, English, and German languages. Dr. Akram has been granted many awards some of which are: “The Middle East Educational Leadership Award” from The World Leadership Congress and Awards on 4th Oct 2018 and also Granted “The Asian Education Leadership Award”, from The World Sustainability Congress and Awards, 10th Oct 2019.

Mounir-AL-Laham

Assistant Superintendent

Mounir Al Laham is the school’s Assistant Superintendent with more than thirty years of experience in education. He has a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. He joined Dubai International Private School in 1991 as an English teacher.  In 2002, he was chosen as High School Supervisor dealing with academic as well as administrative concerns and continued in this position till 2008. During these years, he was leading the school’s Accreditation Steering Committee (AdvancEd/Cognia), running TOEFL courses, and was the SAT Test Center Coordinator. Moreover, he was in charge of organizing international educational trips as well as administering the MAP tests.  During his career, he conducted a number of training sessions for teachers on learning strategies and classroom management before he was given the role of Head of High School Section, which he continued to lead until 2014. He was promoted as an Assistant Principal in 2014-2015. In addition to his duties as an Assistant Superintendent, a certified Child Protection Officer, and a member of the Senior Leadership Team; he is one of the leading committee members of NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges) and Cognia Accreditation in the school. During his life career, he attended numerous conferences and workshops to enhance his teaching and leadership skills.

Deborah Anne Mustafa

Head of Curriculum 

 

Deborah is a creative and inspirational leader with over 20 years’ experience in a variety of educational settings in the USA, the UAE and Sudan, Africa where she taught EAL. Originally from Seattle, Washington, Deborah holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from the University of Washington and a Master of Arts degree in Education from Antioch University, Seattle. In addition, she holds a Washington State teaching certificate in grades K-8 and is trained in TESOL.

As an educator, Deborah has served in a wide array of leadership capacities such as fund raising for urban school reform in Philadelphia; directing a Progressive educational elementary school program on a wooded 10-acre campus in the Eastern US; leading a well reputed international elementary school in Sharjah, as well being the founding Head of Academics at one of the first Project Based Learning schools in Dubai, to name a few.

Deborah has lived in the UAE 14 years and is mother to two amazing grown children. Naturally curious she strives to be a lifelong learner, is an avid reader, loves audio books and podcasts, enjoys gardening and swimming, adores cats, strong coffee, and appreciates the arts. She is interested in interfaith dialogue and believes in the beauty of shared values across all religious traditions, cultures, and nationalities.

Sehrish-Zafar

Sehrish Zafar

Head of Section- Middle & High School
 

Mrs. Sehrish Zafar is the Head of the Middle & High School of Dubai International Private School. She has over 9 years of experience in the field of education in Dubai. She joined Dubai International School in 2018. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Masters’s Degree in Education majoring in Coaching & Mentoring. She has conducted extensive researches in the field of education, which has contributed towards school improvement. Some of her areas of research include peer coaching and its impact on teacher’s collaboration and reflection; the impact of classroom observation and the feedback on teachers’ efficacy; the impact of formative feedback on students’ performance and support provided by the senior leadership team to improve teachers’ performance. Additionally, Sehrish has been a team player and has been a committee member for the school’s Accreditation Committee (COGNIA & NEASC) Moreover, she has been an active member of the Senior Leadership Team contributing towards School’s Self Evaluation and Improvement planning. She attended a series of PD opportunities nationally and internationally on various topics including Students of Determination, Career Guidance, Child Protection and safety, Wellbeing, School improvement planning, Innovation, Pedagogical practices, and Teaching & Learning.

Rinkle-Jadeja

Rinkle Jadeja

Head of Section- Elementary

Mrs. Rinkle Jadeja is the Head of the Elementary Section of Dubai International Private School in Dubai. She has over 17 years of experience in education as a head of the section, Head of Department, Curriculum leader, Teacher Trainer, teacher, Coach, Mentor, Lecturer, and a NEASC team visitor. She has a Bachelor Degree in Education, a Bachelor Degree in Business Management; a Master Degree in Business Administration, a Teaching Diploma and courses in TESOL (Teaching English to the Speakers of Other Languages); a Cambridge International Diploma for Teaching and Learning, a certificate in UK Cambridge TKT- Teaching Knowledge Test, a certificate in UK Performance Learning Trained Teacher 240 Hours to face to face training, a certificate in Licensed Corporate Coach You- Facilitator and Trainer program.  Additionally, she received the GEMS CORE VALUE TEACHERS AWARD for seeding the GEMS Core Values in the students and for working hand in hand with her team to make a difference in young learners for GEMS Winchester School, Dubai, in June 2012.

Suhad-El-Kassar

Suhad El Kassar

Head of Section- Kindergarten, Kids Academy Principal

Suhad El Kassar is the head of Kindergarten at Dubai International Private School and principal of Kids Academy. She has over 26 years of experience in early intervention and early childhood education. She has a bachelor’s degree in public administration, Teaching Diploma in early childhood education, a master’s degree in special education, and a Ph.D. candidate in Organizational leadership. Additionally, She is leading the kindergarten and the development of Kids Academy early childhood educational pre-K program, she implements the pedagogical leadership of all co-curricular activities, the teaching and learning process, and the performance of teachers and students. She works on supporting staff involved in working with children with special needs, supporting the provision of children’s identification with SEND, advising on the level of resources, and liaise with the external agencies. Moreover, she formulates a vision for the kindergarten and preschool, trains, evaluates, supervises teachers and staff, and provides leadership and supervision of interactions, activities, and materials appropriate for young children’s emotional, spiritual, social, intellectual, and physical development. She developed the early childhood curriculum and handles all of the day-to-day operations of kindergarten, including staff supervision and program development, and oversees the social, academic, and emotional development of the youngest students. Furthermore, she is a member of the Senior Leadership Team playing an active role in DSIB self-evaluation and committees for NEASC (New England Association of School and Colleges) and Cognia Accreditation. She attended a series of PD opportunities across child health, protection and safety, wellbeing, and education in the early years.
