“More than any other time, we need to boost innovation among young people, build nurturing environments in our society, and encourage our schools and universities to equip our youth with skills in research and discovery methodologies.”

– Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai (2014)

Our school’s approach to innovation in Grades K-12 is designed to enhance students’ Innovative and creative skills across all phases, this is to improve students’ achievement through building a practice of innovation and creativity, and providing opportunities for students to generate their own ideas, with the aim of developing their 21st-century skills and ensure that they are future-ready, for a rapidly changing world.

The innovation policy at DIPS is driven by:

  • The UAE’s Centennial Plan (2071) for excellence in education as a vital enabler for students aspiring to pursue the study of Artificial Intelligence, Space Science, Health Sciences and Digital Engineering.
  • Dubai Private School (DIPS) mission, vision and priority goals.

Competitions and affiliations

DIDI Project Design Space: this competition organized by Dubai Institute for Design and Technology provides a unique opportunity for students to gain real-world experience in the field of design. DIDI Project Design Space sets itself apart from other innovation programs by offering student teams the rare opportunity to work on real design projects for actual clients, including government bodies, corporates and non-profits.

During our current academic Year 2023-2024, we have created partnerships to participate in the following Programs and competitions.

First LEGO League Competition: Competition between teams of students across the UAE in which they engage in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering – building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates predetermined missions.

STEM Ambassador Program: organized and sponsored by Amideast in collaboration with Boeing to enrich our students’ curiosity in STEM-related fields and benefit from theoretical and practical activities related to aerospace engineering and sustainability within the field.

The program Increases awareness about sustainability, aeronautics engineering, and STEM creates a thought leadership community through subject matters, and increases the repertoire of students who will act as ambassadors for the STEM program.

DIPS Innovation Fair: The school will hold an Innovation to showcase students’ innovative projects and presentations by the end of Semester 2023, taking into account our previous successful experience with the Sustainability Fair which took place in May 2022.
