Developing skills in new ways

Participation in co-curricular activities takes equal importance alongside academic performance at Dubai International Private School. Through participation in these events, students enrich their school days. Additionally, the curriculum is rich and focuses on PBL and inquiry-based learning providing students an opportunity for experiential learning.

In addition to physical development and the exploration of interests, students learn the thrill of challenge and competition, the importance of concentration, the spirit of teamwork and a sense of accomplishment.

DIPS provides a rich co-curricular program that supports student’s all-round development, providing opportunities for students to develop talents and explore new interests. Activities include both individual pursuits and team building activities for students. Students may choose from a wide variety of after school activities that include:

Students Leadership

At DIPS, we strongly believe that Student Leaders have a very important role to play in the day-to-day organisation of our school. The positions not only allow students the opportunity to model leadership, resilience, responsibility and decision-making, they also encourage younger students to aspire and learn from peer examples.

Students have many opportunities to develop their leadership skills at Dubai International Private School as well as in the wider community. Ambassadors, Student Council members, the Innovation Team of students, the Eco-School Committee Members welcome new members and take part in sustainability initiatives and sharing their knowledge through various awareness campaigns, STEM labs, clubs, and multiple other workshops.

STUDENT COUNCIL

The Middle & High School Student Council provides leadership opportunities for students, providing services to the school and community, and making the lives of students more enjoyable. Students selected for the Student Council are assigned roles and responsibilities which develop their sense of responsibility and confidence.

The student council serves as a link between students and teachers, organizes social activities, and assists the greater school community in various events and activities throughout the year. Student council members are leaders who demonstrate the qualities of exceptional and successful students. The members of student council from High Schools also serve on the DIPS Governance Board.

STUDENT AMBASSADORS

The Middle & High School Ambassadors help to welcome new students in the school while developing their own leadership skills. They lead transitional activities for the incoming Grade 9 classes as well as being buddied up with new students entering DIPS throughout the year to help ensure a smooth transition.

CLASS LEADERS

Students in Middle and High School are further provided with leadership opportunities as in each class there are elected Class Leaders and Vice Leaders who practice their leadership skills and build teams through collaboration and organize their classes and update the learning environment.
